The District Board of Directors, purchased the property in 1956 for $800 and built the 6th fire station serving the Fire District. The fire station served the community for more than 30 years with a fire engine and a paramedic unit in the late 1970's until it closed. The District reopened Fire Station 54, (Marks/Nielsen) to increase the effective firefighting force throughout the eastern boundaries of the Fire District. This station will improve the District's emergency response times to thousands of residents.
